In today’s Marketing environment, we must be more than just marketers or communicators. The old position in which a Marketer just designed a strategy or a concept, and their large and diverse teams would bring it to life, are far between.
A good Marketer is different; they are the new artists of the Marketing Rennaissance because a strong marketer must have strategic, tactical, design, technical, Psychological, ethnographic, anthropological, and writing skills.
Writing in Today’s Marketing Environment
Writing content in today’s Marketing environment is one of the most essential skills a Marketer should have. We don’t have to be better than copywriters, but we need to create engaging content or, at the least, understand the structure of the content and the types of content that exist. If we are not natural-born writers, one way to do this is by using technology.
Understanding AI for Today’s Marketing Environment
Creating content with Artificial Intelligence involves using machine learning algorithms to create, rewrite, write, optimize, and generate ideas for content.
Machine Leraning or AI can create articles, snippets of information, visuals, and more based on your directions. This is why the human factor is just as important as the technology. We, as Marketers, define the parameters for AI to create content, and the more details about your audience and your brand you provide, the more accurate the content will be.
Can’t AI use the web to create content?
Although AI is a machine learning algorithm, so if you give it poor parameters, it will use available online information to create content. The content may follow a vague idea of your target audience, but it will not effectively target them. Only you can define your target audience and create content that matches its characteristics.
Machine Learning does not replace our skills and the need to research and know our audience in depth. We need to be the guiding force for AI. This AI facilitates creating content but still needs to replace the human factor!

Identify Your Content Needs:
In today’s Marketing Environment, identifying your content needs can be challenging. , I start by determining the purpose of the content. Is this content to generate an action, to position my brand in the psyche of the audiences? Is it designed to retain customers? Do we want to share information? Is this part of a more extensive integrated campaign?
Once I define this, I define the content structure: Is it a blog, info snippets, call to action, etc.? You need to know your audience in-depth to find the right content type and structure. You should tell AI how your audience receives and processes information, what kind of noise is there, and any other relevant information.
Define your SEO standards:
At this point, you should know what short-tail keywords, long-tail keywords, keyphrases, slugs, social descriptions, sentence lengths, paragraph lengths, etc. These details will help AI create content to increase your SEO. AI can also help you with this.
Keyword Research
Keyword Research is an area in which AI helps me the most. It helps Identify relevant keywords and phrases your target audience is searching for in Today’s Marketing Environment. I generally use the three-rule research: I research keywords with AI, a Keyword Tool, and a third-party tool like SEMRush. I also use old methods like predictive text, trends, etc.
- Content Optimization for Today’s Marketing Environment: Once you identify the correct words and phrases, you must naturally include them in the text. This is why I recommend searching for your keywords first and now the requirements for using them for the Google Crawler to find them. Although, the
- Competitor Analysis: Knowing what the competition is doing is always vital. Using AI tools to analyze competitors’ content and identify gaps or opportunities for your content strategy is an excellent way to refine your content even more. I also recommend doing this as a separate step before creating the content.
Choose the Right AI Tools:
There are a variety of AI tools in today’s Marketing Environment, and choosing the right one may be confusing, so here are some tips and suggestions:

- Content Generation: Tools like GPT-3 by OpenAI, Jasper (formerly Jarvis), and Copy.ai can generate high-quality written content based on your prompts.
- SEO Optimization: SEMRush, Clearscope, and SurferSEO help you optimize your content for search engines by providing relevant keywords, better content structure, and improved readability. One tool I use in WordPress and like is Yoast, #Yoast.
- Visual Content Creation when you are not a designer: Although it is always better to have a designer, tools like Canvas AI design suggestions, DeepArt, and Runway ML can create visuals and graphics. I use AI to create images based on a detailed description I provide to AI. Once AI creates a picture, I use it as a guide to create a unique image. It has helped me visualize what I want and even provided designers with better renditions of my vision for different campaigns.
- Editing and Proofreading: This is essential since one mistake can be critical in today’s Marketing Environment. Remember to re-read Grammarly and Hemingway’s corrected text and decide if it is better than your original version.
This brief guide provides initial recommendations for using AI and gaining a solid foothold in today’s marketing environment. Remember, knowing your audience and the art and science of Marketing is crucial. Understanding the emotions and tendencies of a group will help you understand what kind of content to create.
